Hawaii’s gift to the world is the Aloha embodied daily in the beautiful people of many races living here in relative harmony.
Similarly, one of America’s greatest gifts to the world is the principle that all citizens, regardless of race or ancestry, are entitled to the equal protection of the laws. That principle is incorporated into Hawaii’s Bill of Rights, which provides that no person shall be denied the equal protection of the laws because of race or ancestry. That principle also fits perfectly with the Aloha spirit and, in effect, makes Aloha part of the constitutional law of the United States.
